The Minister of Defense discusses with his Egyptian counterpart developments in the regional and international arenas

The Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad Saeed Al-Abbasi, discussed in Cairo today, Tuesday, with his Egyptian counterpart, Lieutenant General Mohammed Zaki, developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas, and their repercussions on security and stability in the region.

The Ministry of Defense said in a statement, “Al-Abbasi arrived in the Republic of Egypt on an official visit, accompanied by a delegation of senior officers in the Ministry of Defense.

The statement added, “The Minister met, after conducting an official reception ceremony at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General Mohammed Zaki.

The Minister of Defense discussed with his Egyptian counterpart developments in the situation on the regional and international arenas and their repercussions on security and stability in the region, in light of the current circumstances and challenges, as well as aspects of cooperation between the two countries in many fields.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s supportive efforts in its regional and international environment, looking forward to witnessing more cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries in the next phase.

For his part, the Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces affirmed his pride in the partnership relations between the Egyptian and Iraqi armed forces, indicating keenness to enhance aspects of cooperation in various military fields.
