Baghdad, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in the European Union, Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the thirteenth session of the Sir Bani Yas Forum, which is being held Organized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Josep Borrell congratulated the Minister on the occasion of forming the new government and renewing confidence in him as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq.
For his part, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein presented a summary of the developments of the political process in Iraq, the formation of the new Iraqi government and the features of the next stage, expressing his optimism in the success of the new government due to the availability of political support and in light of the high economic and financial level in Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed relations with the European Union and its countries to serve common interests, and the Iraqi-European dialogue, which is expected to be held early next year.
A number of files of common interest were also discussed, in addition to developments on the regional and international arenas, and views were exchanged on them.
