UAE a supporter of volunteer work: Chairman of Wajib Volunteer Association

ABU DHABI, Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Wajib Volunteer Association, stated that the wise leadership has prioritised volunteer work and promoted the vales of giving.

He added that the UAE and its wise leadership is following in the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who established the foundations of volunteer work in the UAE.

On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, Sheikh Khalifa said that volunteer work is a national duty, an ethical and community commitment, and a human right.

He added that the Emirati community has known the values of volunteer work from a long time.

Sheikh Khalifa thanked Emirati volunteers for their volunteer work in major conflicts and disaster areas while noting their key role in Yemen and Iraq and their support for Syrian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Greece.
