UAE doctors complete thousands of volunteer hours

ABU DHABI,A large number of Emirati doctors have volunteered to perform humanitarian diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive duties within the Zayed Mobile Clinic, in yet a new innovative gesture to pay back the nation and in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2018 the Year of Zayed.

Emirati doctors have also completed thousands of volunteer hours within the Zayed Giving Convoys, to provide best possible diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services around the country’s various emirates for limited-income segments of various nationalities, regardless of colour and ethnicity.

The Zayed Mobile Clinic is now operating as part of the efforts made by the UAE voluntary mobile field clinics and hospitals, to serve children and elderly segments of society in line with the Zayed Giving Initiative, and in co-ordination with government, private and non-profit organisations, whose foundation were laid by the country’s founder, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the determination of the country’s wise leadership to establish a culture of voluntary work and giving.

The launch of the Zayed Mobile Clinic is part of the innovative humanitarian programmes of the Zayed Giving Initiative, which aims to provide realistic solutions to healthcare issues through a series of mobile clinics and mobile field hospitals around the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritania, Morocco and Bangladesh, which have helped over 10 million children and elderly people.

Dr. Khadeja Al Nuaimi, Head of the Zayed Mobile Clinic, has stated that the Zayed Giving Initiative, since its establishment in 2000, has attracted specialist volunteers, training and empowering them to perform voluntary work in line with the highest international standards, as part of the UAE voluntary medical team.

Many partnerships have been created in this regard to promote innovative initiatives, helping find realistic solutions to humanitarian and economic issues, in line with the humanitarian spirit of Sheikh Zayed, she added, paying tribute to the UAE wise leadership for supporting doctors to attain the highest qualifications.
