UAE, S. Korea sign intellectual property MoU

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Economy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean Intellectual Property Office, to bolster cooperation on protecting patents and intellectual property.

Attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, the signing reflects the ministry’s determination to step up efforts toward transforming the UAE into a knowledge- and innovation based economy and ensuring an investment-conducive environment in the country.

Mohamed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry, who signed the agreement along with the commissioner of the South Korean Intellectual Property Office, underlined the importance attached by the State to safeguarding intellectual property rights as per best international practices and standards.

It comes in in continuation of a series of MoUs signed with the Korean side over the past few years towards this same end.
