ABU DHABI, The UAE and Seychelles have announced the establishment of a safe travel corridor for fully vaccinated individuals, in addition to mutual recognition of vaccination certificates issued by health authorities in the two countries. The move is part of the UAE-Seychelles cooperation towards the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of 13th May 2021, the quarantine-free travel corridor will ease the travel of vaccinated individuals holding vaccination certificates without the need to apply quarantine requirements upon arrival, while abiding by other precautionary measures adopted at each destination to ensure safe and secure travel for all.

This step affirms the keenness of the leadership of both countries to facilitate the movement of individuals, promote tourism between the two countries, and achieve the desired goals of vaccination campaigns, which reached advanced rates in the percentage of vaccine recipients. This will ensure the health and safety of community and prevent the spread of the virus.

As per the new regulations, citizens and residents wishing to benefit from the quarantine-free travel corridor in both countries will be required to show documentation that they have received the last dose of a COVID-19 vaccine per the approved applications or certificates issued by health authorities. Travellers can also present PCR laboratory test results through these applications.

This partnership is of high importance in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It also supports the efforts of the two countries to combat and overcome the pandemic.

ABU DHABI, In line with the National COVID-19 Vaccination Plan, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) approved the emergency use of the Pfizer- BioNTech vaccine for the 12 to 15 age group, under the outcomes of clinical trials and a strict assessment conducted to approve the emergency local use of the vaccine.

The approval supports the national efforts to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and protect this age group, highlighting the UAE’s proactive approach to ensuring the community’s health and safety.

The MoHAP, the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi (DoH), the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched a free national vaccination campaign for all citizens and residents to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The UAE has provided over 11 million vaccine doses to citizens and residents around the country, which contributed to delivering the declared target of vaccinating half of the eligible population by the end of March 2021.

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 212,212 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 1,512 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 542,158.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

MoHAP also announced four deaths due to COVID-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 1,623.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 1,474 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 522,356.
