10th Senyar Festival Wraps Up


Doha: May 04 – The 10th edition of the Senyar Festival wrapped up on Saturday with the General Manager of Katara Cultural Village Foundation Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti honoring the winners.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the participating teams, the general public, and maritime heritage enthusiasts.

The first place prize went to Team Suhail with 376.66 kg, with the team’s fisherman Hamad Ali Al Tamimi receiving the trophy and a prize of QR 1,000,000.

The second place went to Team Al Zubara with 349.6 kg, for which Nasser Khalifa Al Malham received a prize of QR 500,000. As for the third place, it was secured by Team Al Jaryyan with 348.5 kg, for which Hamad Nasser Al Suwaidi received a prize of QR 300,000.

The ceremony also honored the top-3 winners in the largest fish competition. Team Suhail came in first place with a weight of 16.40 kg, with Hamad Ali Al Tamimi receiving a prize of QR50,000. The second place went to Team Al Khor with 12.40 kg, with Saoud Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi receiving
a prize of QR 30,000, followed by Team Belhambar who won third place with 12.25 kg, with fisherman Ali Mohammed Al Emadi receiving a prize of QR 20,000.

On this occasion Katara General Manager stressed in his address that Senyar revives the heritage of the ancestors, recalling their feats and glories. He pointed out the significance of the festival in reviving the traditions of the first generation and embodying their struggles. He expressed his pride in Senyar’s continued success this year, attracting more youth from Qatar and the other GCC countries, establishing the festival’s role in reviving the maritime heritage in Qatar and the region.

The occupation prevents the Commissioner-General of UNRWA from entering the Gaza Strip

New York – Together – The occupation authorities prevented the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, from entering the Gaza Strip, for the second time since the start of the aggression on October 7 of last year.

Dead occupation soldiers, martyrs and wounded in Rafah and Gaza

Gaza – Together – 12 Palestinian citizens were martyred this Sunday evening in bloody Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, while dozens were wounded in raids focused on Rafah and Gaza.

Our correspondent said that six citizens were martyred in the bombing of a house for the Al-Attar family in the Yabna camp, south of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

The occupation army destroyed a residential square in the village of Al-Mughraqa, north of Al-Nuseirat camp.

In a related context, the Al-Qassam Brigades carried out an attack with rocket-propelled grenades towards the Karam Shalom military site, which resulted in the killing and wounding of a number of occupation soldiers.

The brigades claimed that they had disrupted the evacuation of soldiers by continuing to fire rockets that targeted the headquarters of the military operations command in Rafah.

Israeli planes were seen landing several times to transport dead and wounded soldiers.

“Al-Qassam”: An Israeli soldier was sniped in Gaza

Jordan carries out 5 airdrops of aid into northern Gaza

Amman – Ma’an – Today, Sunday, the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army carried out 5 airdrops of humanitarian and food aid, targeting a number of sites in the northern Gaza Strip.

The airdrops included relief and humanitarian aid to support people in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the ongoing Israeli war on the Strip.

A plane belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, a plane belonging to the Arab Republic of Egypt, two planes belonging to the United States of America, and a plane belonging to the Federal Republic of Germany participated in the aid landing operation.

The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed that it ‘continues to send humanitarian and medical aid via an air bridge to be delivered via aid planes from Marka Airport towards Al-Arish International Airport, or through airdrops into the Gaza Strip or ground aid convoys, to help the people in the Gaza Strip overcome the difficult conditions.’ ‘And as an embodiment of the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the two brotherly peoples.’

Hamayel receives the non-resident ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the State of Palestine
