Mubadala Aerospace Kicks Off University Talent Tour

Abu Dhabi: Mubadala Aerospace has launched its bi-annual “black box” talent acquisition tour to encourage Emirati engineering candidates to join the world of aerospace, as part of its long term commitment to the growth of the aerospace sector in the Emirate.

A targeted 500 students across four universities will attend the interactive sessions, led by Mubadala Aerospace’s Executive Director Homaid Al Shemmari and representatives from Mubadala Aerospace companies; Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC) and Strata Manufacturing.

In a portable conference room designed to mimic the “black box” of an aircraft, representatives from AMMROC, ADAT and Strata gave insight into their asset’s histories and the various services and products they each provide.

Following its successful launch in February 2012, which involved 434 students, the “black box” university roadshow has become a mainstay at Mubadala Aerospace that allows the company’s aerospace businesses to stay connected to UAE students and keep them updated on the latest company developments and opportunities. The tour, which began on 1st October, will run through the second week of October, visiting four universities including: United Arab Emirates University, the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) at Ras Al Khaimah men’s campus, Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi and American University of Sharjah. Three more roadshows are planned for 2013.

Mubadala Aerospace invests in the growth of local talent, with an Education and Training sector dedicated to developing various educational initiatives that engage and encourage Emirati youth to pursue careers that will position Abu Dhabi as a leading global aerospace hub. Al Shemmari commented: “Mubadala Aerospace is dedicated to the development and growth of our local Emirati talent and university visits to recruit young engineers lies at the foundation of creating an innovative, competitive and sustainable future for Abu Dhabi’s aerospace industry.” “Mubadala Aerospace’s black box’ tour became extremely popular amongst UAEU students.
