‘Sudan in the Heart of the UAE’ festival embodies sincere national feelings: Nahyan bin Mubarak


DUBAI: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, witnessed the “Sudan in the Heart of the UAE” festival, which was held today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with a large and remarkable presence of families from the Sudanese community.

Organised by the Sudanese community in the UAE in cooperation with the “Emirates Loves Sudan” account, the festival witnessed the attendance of more than 4,000 people and drew great interaction from the members of the Sudanese community in the country.

Sheikh Nahyan stressed that the festival “represents an important human communication between Sudan and the UAE, and a strong sense of pride in the close fraternal relations that bind the two beloved countries.”

”What we are witnessing, thanks to God, is the impact of this affection and reverence on the sincere harmony and true brotherhood that bring the two brotherly peoples together, with a strong bond that embodies the sincere national feelings that we feel together, uniting us and makin
g us work together not only to affirm the full and complete cooperation between our two countries, but also to work for the advancement of the Arab nation as a whole, and also for building bridges of understanding and coexistence with the peoples of the world.”

Sheikh Nahyan said: ‘The strong relationship between the UAE and Sudan is, in essence, a deep-rooted and renewed relationship, a relationship based on the ideal values and common principles that we are proud of together, which include: the values of love for the homeland, pride in the Arab and Islamic nation, as well as the values of mutual respect and the continuous and relentless pursuit of goodness, peace and security for both countries.’

The festival, which saw a large turnout from the Sudanese community, including a group of prominent Sudanese personalities residing in the country, along with businessmen, artists, intellectuals, athletes and others, featured entertainment activities, diverse artistic and heritage performances, as well as a herit
age exhibition and a carnival market inspired by the most prominent Sudanese landmarks.

The festival, which aimed to celebrate Sudanese culture, heritage and arts by inviting members of the Sudanese community in the country to interact with its activities, exemplifies the positive social atmosphere that links the Sudanese community in the UAE.
